William Hill is facing a six-figure payout should Trump win the White House.
“A Cornish client of ours, John Mappin, stands to win some £50,000 (US$76,900) from us if Donald Trump wins, and a Canadian customer from Ontario has bet 8,500 Canadian dollars (US$6,400) on him, and he is now far and away the worst potential outcome for us, likely to be a six figure loser,” William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe said in a statement.
Trump’s odds to win the election have been cut in half since the 10-to-1 price at which he was listed the day after the Republican debate earlier this month. He was once offered at 150-to-1 at William Hill.
Adjusted from 5-to-1 to 7-to-2 to win his party’s nomination, Trump has jumped Marco Rubio and Scott Walker on the Republican odds board. Bush remains the favorite, but his odds have been lengthened from 5-to-4 to 13-to-8 as Trump has ascended over the last few weeks.
William Hill has also opened wagering on this prop: 20-to-1 odds that Trump will shave his hair completely off and appear bald in public.
