Machado was suspended for five games in June after throwing his bat toward Oakland infielder Alberto Callaspo when the teams played in Baltimore. Machado was angry about the A’s Fernando Abad throwing at him in response to Machado being angry at Oakland third baseman Josh Donaldson for tagging him too hard.

Machado later apologized for the bat-throwing. A’s fans aren’t in a forgiving mood.

UPDATE: Machado responded by cranking a go-ahead two-run homer off Jeff Samardzija in his third at-bat.
