The Huskies last made the Tournament in 1991, when it lost in the first round to North Carolina. Northeastern has made the Tournament eight times.

Quincy Ford led Northeastern with a game-high 22 points. He also had four rebounds. David Walker scored 15 points and dished out four assists. The Huskies went 12-for-20 on 3-point attempts, which allowed them to jump out to an early lead.

“I’m just really happy for everyone on the team,” Northeastern coach Bill Coen said in a postagme interview with NBC Sports Network. “William & Mary has a lot of tremendous players, but I thought we turned the ball over a few too many times tonight. There’s nothing like making the NCAA Tournament . . . it feels great to be dancing.”

Marcus Thirnton led William & Mary with 20 points and five assists. Daniel Dixon scored 15 points, making five of his nine 3-point attempts.

William & Mary played in its fourth conference championship game in eight years. It has yet to make the NCAA Tournament.
