During North Dakota State’s game against Denver, Kabellis chased a ball out of bounds on defense and flung it backward in an attempt to keep it inbounds.

The only problem? The ball went straight into the basket, scoring three points for Denver.

“I tried to throw it cross-court to one of my teammates. But I ended up putting a little too much air on it and the rest is history,” Kabellis said in an interview with CBS Sports. “My teammates were giving me a hard time about it. If it would have been a two-point loss it would’ve been tough to swallow.”

North Dakota State ended up winning by a large margin, 81-63.

Fortunately for Kabellis.
