— Hield has been the star of the tournament, especially after his 37-point performance against top-seeded Oregon in the Elite Eight. In the tournament, he has averaged 29.2 points per game, made 57 percent of his field goals and 43 percent of his 3-pointers.
— Oklahoma hasn’t been to a Final Four game since 2002. If it wins against Villanova, it will be the first time since 1988 the Sooners have been in a title game.
— No Buddy? No problem. If Hield is heavily guarded (as he was against Texas A&M), Oklahoma’s other four starters are capable of stepping up. Woodard led all players with 22 points against the Aggies and Lattin and Spangler chipped in 10 points each.
— Villanova doesn’t quite have the Buddy Hield factor, but four Wildcat starters are averaging double-digit points in tournament play. Jenkins, Arcidiacono, Ochefu and Hart all have a solid court presence that is formidable when put together.
— The last time the Wildcats made it past the Final Four was in 1985, when they won a national title.
— Jenkins will have to stay out of foul trouble if he wants to score. In tournament play, he has 11 fouls over four games.
