According to NFL Media’s Albert Breer, the league will research ways to add cameras to its replay system, starting next week.

In case you missed it, Belichick sent a proposal to the NFL to add extra cameras for more angles. The Patriots coach said he wants cameras positioned on the sidelines, end lines and goal lines. He submitted a similar proposal last year and had it rejected.

It seems like a logical idea, but why does it keep getting rejected? According to Newsday, Giants president John Mara said the league believes the changes will be too expensive.

After hearing that excuse, Belichick made his point clear during a meeting with NFL head of officials Dean Blandino and others that he wasn’t happy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

He was just as displeased last year hearing that excuse. According to USA Today, Belichick joked the league should have a bake sale to raise the funds.

They must have sold a lot of cookies, because the league is finally starting to take action.
