The most significant injury was to Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who left the game on Green Bay’s first series with a reported ACL injury. Pittsburgh later lost Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey, whose left ankle was rolled onto during a running play. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that Pouncey will likely require surgery to repair a broken bone.

Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt (sprained ankle) and Packers guard T.J. Lang (concussion) were injured on consecutive plays in the second quarter. Tuitt will miss a couple weeks, but there was no timetable given for how much time Lang could miss.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was perfect on Green Bay’s first possession, which ended with a 7-yard Eddie Lacy touchdown run. The Steelers eventually won the game, but the 24-19 score was irrelevant as Cheeseheads everywhere await MRI results.
Sunday’s three-game slate had the Cowboys visiting the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium, which has had serious turf issues over the last year, and Jeff Fisher taking his Rams to Nashville to take on Fisher’s former team.

Steelers backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski left Sunday’s game before halftime with a finger injury on his left hand and did not return.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin confirmed Sunday that safety Bennett Jackson suffered a torn ACL during Saturday night’s 22-12 win over the Jaguars. Coughlin also said linebacker Jon Beason has a sprained knee.

Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota was steady in his second preseason game, completing 5 of 8 passes for 59 yards and compiling an 89.4 quarterback rating in the team’s 24-17 win over the Rams.
Former Australian Rugby League star Jarryd Hayne was spectacular on Sunday. He returned three punts for 84 yards in the first half and rushed for 54 yards (including a 34-yard burst) on eight carries in the 49ers 23-6 win over the Cowboys.
The Steelers are really liking what former Auburn receiver Sammie Coates has been doing. He had two catches for 60 yards on Sunday, including a 54-yard reception that set up a third-quarter field goal.
