The Bills won 27-14 on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, delivering an impressive performance on both sides of the ball. Second-year quarterback Josh Allen finished nine-for-11 for 102 yards as the Bills rushed into a 24-3 lead at halftime. While Allen shone and newly signed wide receiver Cole Beasley hauled in all of his five targets for 54 yards, former England rugby star Christian Wade stole the show....

There wasn’t too much excitement in either one; perhaps the biggest news was that Alex Smith finally threw a touchdown to a wide receiver. Smith connected on a 3-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin, which was his first touchdown to a wideout in 594 days. From a throwback Thursday rivalry opener pitting the Bears against the Packers to a modern-day classic featuring the defending champion Patriots against the Steelers to kick off “Sunday Night Football,” the league has more than a few treats in store for the first weekend....

Can the Falcons reclaim the crown they had during Matt Ryan’s MVP season now that the team is healthy? Will the Saints remain on top with the returns of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas? And what will happen to the Panthers if Cam Newton is unable to avoid nagging injuries? Perhaps one of the bigger stories is how the Buccaneers — who have finished last in the NFC South eight out of the last 10 seasons — will fare under new coach Bruce Arians....

Fans have had the chance to vote on their favorite players from the 2021 season since Nov. 16, and now the results are in. The AFC and NFC teams are each made up of 44 star players who earn the most votes in the league. Tom Brady was among the 13 Pro Bowl players were revealed in advance of the announcement, giving the Buccaneers quarterback his 15th career selection — the most by any player in NFL history....
