The Indie World Showcases are virtual presentations, similar to the popular Nintendo Directs, that put the emphasis on independent games from Nintendo’s global partners. The games showcased are usually set to be available for Nintendo Switch in the near future. The most recent Indie World Showcase happened in August, and featured more than 20 games. The biggest was Hades from Supergiant Games, the rogue-like dungeon crawler that took the gaming world by storm—so much so that it was nominated for Game of the Year at this year’s The Game Awards....

While the Nintendo Switch Lite is selling for a modest $200, less than the $300 price tag of the original model, a new report suggests that the video game publisher was pushing to market the handheld console for cheaper. According to a Wall Street Journal report, suppliers of parts for the Nintendo Switch Lite say that the company “tried to cut costs and weighed a price tag below $200.” The report even reveals that one supplier “battled” Nintendo for months over the price of a key component of the Switch Lite....

January isn’t normally known for its huge game releases, but Nintendo is disrupting the traditional post-holiday lull with the current-gen arrival of a beloved Wii U title. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was one of the most-acclaimed Wii U games in that console’s last days, but more players will soon be able to play this awesome turn-based action RPG anywhere on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo, like in December, is also releasing a new Wii U title in January 2020....

The latest report, which encompasses the time between April and December 2019, suggests Nintendo has posted its highest quarterly profit in 10 years thanks to the high demand of its hybrid console, the Switch. With the successful holiday season behind it, Nintendo raised its forecast for the year ending March 31, to 19.5 million from 18 million units.
