Prior to last season’s NHL trade deadline, the Bruins acquired Rick Nash in hopes of boosting their second-line scoring punch. The move failed to pan out and some observers feel it’s an issue that still needs addressing for the coming season. In a recent mailbag segment, NBC Sports’ Joe Haggerty was asked if the Bruins still intend to acquire a winger. He believes that decision will have to wait until after all clubs have evaluated their rosters during training camp next month....

For the first time since 2000, the Canucks will enter an offseason without Daniel and Henrik Sedin on their roster. The 37-year-old twins announced earlier this week they will retire when Vancouver’s season ends this weekend. The Sedins spent their entire NHL careers with the Canucks. They are eligible to become unrestricted free agents this summer, but have no interest in continuing their playing careers elsewhere. And while the Sedins are no longer the dominant forwards they once were, their absence will leave a big void in terms of leadership and experience on the Canucks’ rebuilding roster....

Cotton Bowl Stadium has a capacity of just over 92,000. Well-known for its history of hosting football games, the 89-year-old stadium is ready for its first hockey affair....

The order will make both vehicle and equipment manufacturers and car companies notify of crashes involving fully autonomous or partially automated cars, according to the Associated Press. The NHTSA has investigated 31 related crashes, with 25 involving Tesla vehicles’ Autopilot system and 10 reported deaths, since 2015. “By mandating crash reporting, the agency will have access to critical data that will help quickly identify safety issues that could emerge in these automated systems,” said Steven Cliff, the NHTSA acting administrator, in a statement....
